Mrs. Crawdad’s curiosity and lively spirit takes her to places farther down the riverbank than she has ever traveled before. In this story Mrs. Crawdad teaches us that sometimes we encounter unfortunate things in life, which may cause us to slow down, but they also allow us to open our eyes and look more closely at the world around us. When this happens to Mrs. Crawdad, she discovers that with each new season, we have new chances to renew our life with a positive outlook. When we choose to approach life with good cheer, and we are determined to face our challenges with hope and resolve, we begin to accomplish more. It becomes much easier to count our blessings.
