by Debra Shawn Daubenspeck
The Life of Dolls started as a way for Debra Shawn Daubenspeck to deal with psychological and mental challenges she underwent after being diagnosed and treated for cervical cancer. Working with and photographing her dolls took Debra back to her childhood when things were easier and life was less filled with tumult, and became a support system during her recovery. Here, you will see dozens of unique photographs of dolls in normal, day-to-day scenes curated and photographed by Debra. She truly hopes that her book will give readers the same benefits that it did for her.
“Baby loved the book! I’m waiting to see if she uses it as scenes to set up her own Barbies. Also, I showed your book to some friends tonight and they were simply AMAZED by your photography and your story brought tears!!! Great job DSD!!”

“I just sat down and looked through the entire book. It’s BEAUTIFUL! I especially loved the CAST page. Very clever all the way around! I was very touched be the preface. So glad you shared and spoke openly. Helps open eyes like mine that we’re only focused on our own stuff. Thank you!!”

“I love, love, love this book so much! I have sat here and thoroughly examined every page and it’s AMAZING! As soon as I thought one page was my favorite, I would turn the page and say, I don’t know, I think I like this one even better. Great job!!”
