Are you stressed out? Do you have perspective?
To meet tomorrow’s challenges (continued virus outbreaks, financial instability, climate change) we need to rapidly change our way of thinking. We overthink problems that are not there initially but underthink when it’s necessary to get the whole story (e.g., a new friend, on a new partner, or who we vote for). Instead of spending energy on insular issues, we need to (individually and as a society) plan for the future. What we need is a healthy perspective.
Perspective: Coaching to Prevent Stress and Invite New Possibilities offers three simple ways to increase brain power for viewing life from angles that we don’t usually see:
#1—The inward perspective is for getting a true view of our dreams and desires, not what others wish us to be.
#2—The other side’s perspective provides insight into how others view us and their possible constructive advice.
#3—The timeless perspective is about how we can best pass on existential knowledge to the next generation, and also our way to view how today’s choices affect us in the long run so that we spend time and energy on what really matters.
